What We Do

Psychotherapy and DBT Canberra

Mindscape Therapy Canberra is an allied mental health clinic with a focus on psychotherapy methods, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Psychotherapy provides a safe, non-judgemental space for people to work through their various areas of distress. It can help you tolerate and understand painful and difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, understand how historical events influence the present behaviours and help process traumatic events.

We offer in-person group DBT Canberra skill develop programs which teach you how to manage and thrive within the challenges of your unique mental health situation.

With years of clinical experience and training, our end goal is to improve both your mental and physical well-being.

Meet Rana Elmir

Mindscape Therapy Founder and Lead Psychotherapist

I created Mindscape Therapy to enhance my ability to provide support for vulnerable people across Canberra.

My name is Rana and I am a qualified Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). I have eight years of direct psychotherapy practice experience with vulnerable populations through my work with Canberra Health Services.

My experience and areas of speciality include work with youth/families, personality disorders, addiction and trauma but can work therapeutically with most mental health presentations. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities but have extensive experience with Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Psychodynamic Therapy and am in the process of obtaining my accreditation for each of these therapeutic models.

I created Mindscape Therapy to enhance my ability to provide support for vulnerable people across Canberra. With my years of clinical experience, I now provide supervision to emerging therapists and mental health professionals and am a registered Victims Support provider in the ACT. I have extensive experience in stabilising hard to engage populations in therapy through my work at the Youth Drug & Alcohol Program.

I am keen to help anyone who requires support through their various life stressors. Contact me or make a booking today so we can work together on your mental health needs.

Rana has experience and training across a variety of therapeutic modalities.

She is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker with ten years of clinical experience working in the Mental Health sector with adolescents and adults.

Dedicated to helping you manage lifes difficulties
