ACCEPTANCE & COMMITMENT THERAPY, CBT, DBT, YOUTH PSYCHOLOGY
Amanda is a registered psychologist who aims to create a warm, collaborative space where clients feel heard, respected, and genuinely understood. She works with clients experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, stress, disordered eating, low self-esteem, and sleep difficulties, among other concerns.
I work with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on adolescents, young adults, and families. I have experience in both community mental health and private practice, and I’m drawn to supporting people through periods of transition, loss, and emotional complexity.
My approach is collaborative and client-centred, with a focus on helping you build practical skills, make sense of your experiences, and move towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
I’m a neuroaffirming clinician, and I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are, without needing to filter or minimise your experiences. I also work from a Health at Every Size (HAES)-informed perspective, and I tailor therapy to your goals, strengths, and needs.
I draw on evidence-based therapies including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a particular focus on DBT. I have specialised training in DBT and am particularly interested in how it can help people manage intense emotions, reduce behaviours that feel difficult to control, and build a more stable and meaningful life.
