Aimee Silverman

Registered Psychologist

BA - BScPsych(Hons) - MClinPsych

CBT, DBT, MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING, SSI, UNIFIED PROTOCOL

Aimee is a Registered Psychologist who works with adolescents and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns. Coming to therapy can feel daunting, especially when you feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected. No matter where you are in your journey, Aimee provides a nonjudgmental space, working alongside you to build hope, develop practical skills and move towards a life that feels meaningful, authentic, and worthwhile.

When mental health difficulties take over, it can be easy to lose sight of who we are, what matters to us, and the possibility that life can improve in the future.

Her practice incorporates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the Unified Protocol (UP & UP-C), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and brief/single session intervention (SSI). Her work is largely informed by Dialectical Behaviour therapy (DBT) and compassion-based therapies. In session, Aimee uses a trauma-informed and neuroaffirming approach.

Aimee holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from Australian National University, Bachelor (honours) from the University of Western Australia, and a Bachelor degree from University of Mary Washington. Across her training, Aimee has prior experiences working within CAMHS and the Australian National University Psychology clinic. She also brings several years of experience working across residential and in-patient mental health settings, supporting young people and adults experiencing homelessness, complex mental health concerns, addiction, and trauma.
